Look.
You spent six months building a piece of software that solves a real, painful bottleneck.
Then you launch your website.
And on the hero section, right where the biggest font on the screen lives, you put this:
“The unified agile orchestration ecosystem for next-generation digital transformation.”
Come on.
Who talks like that? Nobody.
Who buys like that? Absolutely nobody.
When a human being lands on your website, they are not sitting comfortably with a cup of tea, eager to study your product taxonomy.
They are distracted. They have 14 browser tabs open. Slack is pinging them. And their default instinct is to close your tab in three seconds and go back to what they were doing.
If you want them to stay, you only have to do one thing:
Answer three brutal questions in plain language:
- What does this tool do?
- What headache does it take away from my life?
- Why should I buy from you instead of using a spreadsheet or the 20 other tools that do something similar?
If your homepage answers those three questions clearly, visitors stay. They read. They understand. And then they click the button to book a demo.
If your homepage is full of corporate jargon and abstract buzzwords, they bounce.
And then they go buy from your competitor.
Not because your competitor’s product is better. But because your competitor’s words were clearer.
It really is that simple.
P.S.: If you want me to look at your homepage and tell you frankly where your copy is leaking money, write to me here.
